Utah Spanish Fork ICE Jail Women Prisoners Languish in Soiled Panties

Good Sanitation is imperative - Cease assault on  foreign women detainees in Utah Spanish Fork Immigrant Jail.
Sol de Utah, a human rights and labor movement in Utah has learned that the conditions of women prisoners in Utah immigration Spanish Fork Jail are inhumane and unjust. One woman immigrant detainee writes: "....for 4 days I have been wearing dirty panties and they refuse to give me clean ones, they say the law prohibits clean underwear at "classified housing".  The inmate says she is allowed  a 60 second "basic free call but the person she calls has to set up an account." Apparently there is no way to inform those whom she wants to call about this way of communicating because she is not allowed to transfer money from her books into the new account. She said this "new system is creating problems because she cannot talk to anyone to get help. "There is so much hatred and cruelty here. Please help me! " She said in her letter dated 08/01/2014 from 3075 North Main Spanish Fork, Utah County Jail.

Sol de Utah openly condemns this overt violation of human rights. Poor Sanitation and dehumanization by compelling female, foreign immigrants to wear dirty underwear for days is an insult to us, to human dignity and to all who stand for justice for all.

We demand that Utah Spanish Fork ICE Jail provide clean panties to women detainees with immediate effect. This is not a call for a facility lock down in retaliation for immigrants speaking about inmate rights violations, but it is a call for justice, humanity to ask your facility to take a simple action to provide clean panties for women in your ICE detention run in Spanish Fork ICE Jail.
